National Ovarian Cancer Coalition
Early Detection Research Grant

 Emphasis on Early Detection

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) returns for their second year in support of their mission to save lives through the prevention and cure of ovarian cancer. Since their founding in 1991, NOCC has become an important national advocate for patients and families fighting ovarian cancer. This is the NOCC's third year and fifth grant funding research. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the NOCC for their support of this grant.

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition
Quality of Life Research Grant

Emphasis on Quality of Life

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) also returns with a research grant focused on Quality of Life in relation to ovarian cancer. NOCC is making this funding available as part of their commitment to investing in meaningful research that serves the ovarian cancer community. This is the NOCC's third year and sixth grant funding research. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the NOCC for their support of this grant.

The St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness and Caring Together
Research Grant for Ovarian Cancer


St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness (SLOCA) is committed to impacting ovarian cancer survivorship by promoting awareness of early warning signs and standards of care, funding ovarian cancer research, & supporting survivors.

​Caring Together, NY is dedicated to providing support, education, & advocacy for women with ovarian cancer and to supporting research efforts aimed at finding an early detection test and a cure. This is the 18th research grant supported by SLOCA, and the 14th research grant supported by Caring Together, NY.

Research Grant for Endometrial Cancer


This grant is intended to honor both Wilma Williams and the tireless work and dedication of all gynecologic oncologists, and to ensure the ability to pass on and preserve the specialized medical skills and tools to those physicians who will carry the torch. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges Dr. James Orr & Mrs.Vicki Orr for their support of this grant. This is the eleventh grant supported by Dr. James Orr & Mrs. Vicki Orr.

The Shields Family Research Grant for High-Grade Uterine Cancer

Recognizing that recurrence rates are higher and treatment options are more limited in aggressive subtypes of uterine cancer, the Shields Family grant supports projects focusing on high-grade subtypes of uterine cancer (clear cell, uterine serous cancer, carcinosarcoma, poorly differentiated, and/or grade 3 endometrioid). Any area of research that would be expected to increase cure rates or prolong life is eligible, including new therapies, novel imaging, clinical trial adjuvant studies, molecular characterization, understating pathogenesis, etc. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Shields family for their support of this grant. This is the second grant supported by the Shields family.

CERVICAL CANCER


The Harold and Barbara Rosenbaum Family Foundation Cervical Cancer Diversity in Prevention & Clinical Research Grant

This grant supports research focused on the intersection of diversity and cervical cancer research. Proposals should seek to eliminate inequities in cervical cancer care, specifically related to differential outcomes experienced by people from underserved or marginalized populations with cervical cancer, and to increase representation of underrepresented groups in the cervical cancer community as a strategy to achieve health equity for underserved people. The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Harold and Barbara Rosenbaum Family Foundation for their support of this grant.

Those eligible to apply are those who propose a study focused on a marginalized group, or those who are from an underrepresented group within the field of research including but not limited to racially and/or ethnically marginalized, rural, and lower socioeconomic status communities.

FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN’S CANCER RESEARCH AWARDS & PRIZES


Wendy R. Brewster MD, PhD Young Investigator Award

This annual prize honors the legacy of Dr. Wendy R. Brewster and will be given to an individual as a celebration of young investigators demonstrating commitment in the field of gynecologic oncology with a focus on cervical or endometrial cancer research. Individuals from small to medium-sized institutions are highly encouraged to apply.
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges Dr. Brewster for all she was and has accomplished as well as all who have supported this award for their generous support.
This is the first year the Foundation is offering this award.

Perlman Family CCARE Lynch Syndrome Research Prize

Funding is available for a $2,500 stipend for a trainee to support a summer or short-term research project that advances knowledge about Lynch syndrome and its role in gynecologic cancers. The successful applicant must submit a short summary of the project’s goals and expected outcomes co-signed by the applicant’s mentor and supervisor.
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Perlman Family for its generous support of this prize. This is the eleventh prize supported by the Perlman Family.
